Jayfeather hissed in exasperation. “You can go back out into the battle now Berrynose.” When the  creamy warrior didn't reply, Jayfeather hissed “Your paw's not going to fall off you know. It's just a sprain” Berrynose lifted his head defiantly and sputtered “I wasn't thinking about that.” Then he murmered slowly “But, uh, don't sprains take a while to heal?”Jayfeather sighed. “You've been in this fox den since Sunhigh. It's Sunset. I think you can go back out now.” Jayfeather had bee hiding with his herbs in a fox den all day. All day he had had to listen to his clanmates defend their home, and all day he had been haunted by the knowlegde that he could never defend his home with the rest of the clan.
When Berrynose didn't reply, he hissed “Do you think I don't know when a paw is healed or not? Honestly!” Jayfeather murmered under his breath “I'd give my tail to go out there.”Then he stiffened at Berrynose's voice, whiskerlengths from his ear. Obviously, he had overheard Jayfeather. Berrynose mewed “But you can't” He twitched his whiskers smugly, and Jayfeather could feel the superiority coming off of Berrynose in waves. “You're blind. You could never fight like a real warrior. That tabby I was fighting, the ShadowClan apprentice, he would had shredded you!” Jayfeather felt a wave of anger wash over him. Who does he think he's talking to? With an inward sigh, Jayfeather answered himself. An blind, undersized medicine cat. If only he knew what power I really hold!
Berryose continued with a superior toss of his head “It's such a pain, having Leafpool dead. Now I've got to stay here and make sure that a stray ShadowClan kit doesn't come in here and scare you off. Though I don't think even Leafpool could have protected you from that.” He smiled slyly. “No, I guess it's  all up to me!” Jayfeather raised his back hairs. Berrynose had gone too far. Jayfeather knew that Berrynose had merely been making an excuse for staying in the fox den, but he had mentioned Leafpool's death without any sympathy, only complaint. And now he dared to question Jayfeather's fighting ability, and Leafpool's!
Jayfeather unsheathed his claws and spun around. He marched up to Berrynose, stopig woly when they were so close that their whiskers touched. Then he spat at Berrynose “Get your big fat nose out of the fox den, before I shred off the rest of your tail!” Berrynose bared his teeth at the medicine cat and hissed “Is that a threat?” Jayfeather shrugged defiantly. “Could be.” Berrynose growled at the medicine cat. Just then Hollyleaf entered the den. She walked over to Berrynose and tilted her head in mock confusion. “Berrynose, what are you still doing in here? That ShadowClan apprentice is out there, yowling for your blood.” Then she mewed in mock sympathy “But if you want to hide here, I'll just tell him that you're too scared.” Berrynose straightened himself, and, with a  last glare at Jayfeather, launched himself out into the battle. Hollyleaf turned back to Jayfeather. He could feel pain coming off of her in waves, and the scent of blood was heavy on her fur. “Thanks.” Hollyleaf shrugged, then winced in pain. “I don't like him any more then you do.” As Jayfeather started to treat her wounds, a scream rang throughout the battlefield. Jayfeather gasped. “Sandstorm!” Jayfeather and Hollyleaf raced towards the scream.
Sandstorm was standing in the middle of the battlefield, and Squirrelflight was standing ext to her. Squirrelflight let out a scream of such agony, it shocked Jayfeather. “NO!!!!!!!” Jayfeather turned to Hollyleaf “What's going on?” Hollyleaf let out a shocked yowl. “Firestar and Brambleclaw are dead!” Then, out of nowhere, Jayfeather was knocked to the ground. He bared his teeth, but the attacker wouldn't get off. The he heard claws slice through fur, and heard the death rattle in his attacker's throat. A familiar scent hit him. “Lionblaze!” His brother yanked Jayfeather's attacker away, and fresh blood scent hit the air. Claws ripped repeatedly through fur, and his attacker let out a scream of pain. Jayfeather was finally able to identify the attacker. “Blackstar!” Blackstar's screaming stopped, and his thoughts, which Jayfeather had been searching through, became blank. Lionblaze didn't stop fighting however. As StarClan healed Blackstar's wounds, Lionblaze reopened them. The screaming restarted. Silence overcame the battlefield as Blackstar lost another life. Then more screams. Then silence. He's dying nine times! No! Oh StarClan no! He enetered Blackstar's memories. A tiny black cat was standing in front of a cat that Jayfeather remembered to be Tigerstar. He saw Tigerstar die over and over. Suddenly, Jayfeather was ripped out of Blackstar's memories. He was back in the battlefield, and he knew why. Blackstar was dead.
A little rushed at the end, but I still think it was good. I had to put in the memory of Tigerstar's death. The deathes were too similar to keep apart!
