Dhima is raised by two parents absolutely determined to make her into a caring, responsible queen. As a result, she is confident, powerful, self-assured, and caring. Igquma taught her to respect her pridemates and all those under her rule and how to be responsible, while Embasa taught her political smarts and how to have confidence in herself. All in all, she has all the makings of a queen.
The only problem anyone can find is her reluctance to find a mate. She gently refuses any visiting princes, and doesn't visit the borer to find rogues. Her parents don't want to push her on the subject, but as she gets older, they begin to worry that she may never settle for anyone.
The truth is that Dhima is terribly shy about males. She is interested in love, but has no confidence in pursuing it. All her strength and confidence as a leader just doesn't seem to translate into behavior around males.
This all changes the day she meets a male as shy and awkward as herself.
